Information on Rings and Ring Sizing

UK Whole Ring Sizes
Source: http://www.ringsizes.co

The rings on the website are “one-offs” and the ring size is given in the description of the item in the Online Shop.

Sizes are UK sizes (see panel on right). Click here for a comprehensive International Ring Size Conversion Chart which provides conversion to other Ring Size tables.

Due to the way my rings are constructed, they are not always a regular shape, hence I have given the size as near as possible to that on my ring sizer.

Should a ring be purchased and then found not to fit well enough, I will, of course, refund the money spent on the item as soon as I am notified and the ring has been returned.

Because of their nature, particularly the Mermaid Rings, it is not possible to re-size some rings. However, occasionally a ring can be duplicated and made in a larger/smaller size if I have a similar stone, so do please ask if you are interested in a ring, but find that the one shown is not the correct size for you .

Rings should fit snugly at the base of the finger but also wide enough to slide over your knuckle.  Something to be aware of is that rings which have a deeper band (typically 9mm or more) usually need to be a bigger size than those with narrow bands - this should be taken into account when ordering a ring.

For precise measurements, I recommend visiting a local jeweller to have your finger sized. If, however, you are unable to visit a jeweller, I have provided two additional methods of ring sizing below.  Taking at least three (3) measurements, using one or both of these methods will help ensure that you order the correct size.

Method 1 - Measuring your Ring Size using the UK Ring Sizer Belt

UK Ring Sizer Belt (not to scale)

  1. Download and print the Ring Sizer on A4 paper. Print scaling must be set to 100% and in Landscape orientation to ensure the ring sizer belt is the correct size.

  2. Measure the 150mm reference line on the print to ensure that the ring size belt is the correct scale.

  3. Cut out the ring sizer belt.

  4. Carefully cut the slot - for best results fold the ring sizer lengthwise when you do this.

  5. Push the narrow end through the slot to form a loop.

  6. Adjust the ring sizer so that it sits comfortably round your finger.

  7. Check that the ring sizer can slide from the base of your finger over your knuckle without a problem.  Do not over-tighten.

  8. Read the size from the scale.

  9. Repeat steps 6 to 8 several times, preferably at different times of the day and when you are warm.

Method 2 - Measuring your Ring Size using an Existing Ring and the Ring Sizer Chart

  1. Download and print the Ring Sizer Chart on A4 paper. Print scaling must be set to 100%  and in Landscape orientation to ensure the ring sizer chart is the correct size.

  2. Measure the 150mm reference line on the print to ensure that the ring size chart is the correct scale.

  3. Take a ring that fits on the desired finger and place it over the circles on this chart.

  4. Line up the ring by placing it in such a way that the inside edge of the ring matches the circle nearest in size. This measurement will reveal the diameter of the ring.

  5. If the ring falls between two sizes, order the larger size.
