Very unusual earrings made from Sterling Silver wire, decorated with silver grains. inside are pieces of Baltic amber from Poland. Amber is fossilised resin from ancient forests, and can often be picked up on beaches along the Baltic Sea. Polish Baltic amber is usually dated to an era around 44 million years ago. I sourced this amber in the Jewish market in Krakow, Poland. The silver has been treated with oxidising fluid to give it a darkened effect which enhances the definition of the grain decoration. These pendant earrings move freely and hang approx. 5cm from the ear when worn.
